The Best San Diego Segway Tours Of Each Neighborhood

by Maria Haase

Are you visiting San Diego for a short time and want to see as much of the city as possible before you leave? Well, then, a segway tour could be an option for you.

Segway tours have been a rising trend in San Diego in recent years. They’re the same as walking tours but you use a motorized segway machine to get from point to point. This allows you to see a lot more in the same time frame as a walking tour. It may be a little lazy, but who’s complaining? It’s fun!

If you have never done a Segway tour, it takes a few minutes to get the hang of operating the machine and get it to go where you want to go. But the instructors usually give you a little training and a few minutes to familiarize yourself with them. I did a segway tour in Flagstaff a few years ago and it was so much fun and a great way to explore the city.

We have compiled a list of the best San Diego segway tours worth checking out on your visit to America’s finest city.

Listen to stories from your guide about the area’s transformation and what it used to be like back in the day. There will be plenty of opportunities for photo ops while you’re there too. After a dose of action, it’s time for a fresh ocean breeze while you whizz down the Embarcadero Coast across from downtown.

Catch a glimpse of historic ships like the world-renowned USS Midway and the Star of India. Then finish up with a stop at Seaport Village, offering 14 acres of waterfront entertainment throughout the day.

Helmets and segways are provided by the tour company, and you must sign a liability waiver before the tour commences.

The Gaslamp segway tour lasts an hour and a half and the meeting point and finishing point are behind the San Diego Embassy Suites Hotel. This location is close to multiple forms of public transport in case you need a ride.
